About Us | Bougainvillea Holiday Home Samos<\/h1><\/div>

Since 2025, we\u2019ve been living on sunny Samos. What started as a dream to emigrate became Bougainvillea Holiday Home \u2013 a place where we share the true charm of the island with our guests. <\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our Adventure. Your Holiday!<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes you just feel it. That things could be different. Calmer. Simpler. Closer to nature. For us, that feeling began on Samos.

We are Robert and Marjolein, and in February 2025 we left everything in the Netherlands behind to continue our lives on this green Greek island. We bought a house, rolled up our sleeves, and started an adventure we never want to give up.

Next to our house is a separate guesthouse. From the very first moment, we pictured it: a place where couples can truly unwind. Where you wake up to silence, surrounded by greenery, with the sea never far away. A place where you don\u2019t just feel like a tourist, but really experience Samos.

We completely renovated this guesthouse and transformed it into a small-scale holiday home called Bougainvillea Holiday Home. Bougainvillea Holiday Home is more than just a place to sleep. It\u2019s an invitation to experience the island the way we do.

Through our Insider Tips, we hope to bring you along \u2014 so you can book with confidence and arrive with even more joy.

And who knows\u2026 Samos might become just as special a place for you as it is for us.

The Bougainvillea is named after a French explorer.
The real flowers are hidden \u2014 small and white. Just like Samos, which doesn\u2019t reveal its most beautiful spots right away.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Why Samos?<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

There was something about Samos that kept bringing us back. The mountains, the sea, the villages, the food, the quiet roads and the feeling that there is always another place to discover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We love that Samos can be as relaxed or adventurous as you want it to be. One day can be spent swimming and doing absolutely nothing. The next can turn into a long drive through the mountains, a walk to a remote beach or an evening in a village taverna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That freedom is part of what we love about living here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was our first holiday together, just the two of us. I\u2019ve always loved Greece and wanted to share that magic with him, so I spent hours researching, searching for the perfect island\u2014 one with a little bit of everything to discover.

The moment we arrived, we were completely blown away. We stumbled upon the most breathtaking beaches, explored hidden corners of the island on our rented jeep, and dined at the most delicious little restaurants. Everywhere we went, we were met with warm smiles and kind hearts.
