Our Emigration Adventure
Sometimes you just feel it. That things could be different. Calmer. Simpler. Closer to nature. For us, that feeling began on Samos.
We are Robert and Marjolein, and in February 2025 we left everything in Holland behind to continue our lives on this green, untouched Greek island. We bought a house, rolled up our sleeves, and started an adventure we never want to give up.
Next to our house is a separate guesthouse. From the very first moment, we pictured it: a place where couples can truly unwind. Where you wake up to silence, surrounded by greenery, with the sea never far away. A place where you don’t just feel like a tourist, but really experience Samos. We completely renovated this guesthouse and transformed it into a small-scale holiday home called Bougainvillea Holiday Home. From Bougainvillea Holiday Home, you’ll discover the island as we do.
The Bougainvillea is named after a French explorer.
The real flowers are hidden — small and white. Just like Samos, which doesn’t reveal its most beautiful spots right away.
Beaches
